Branding Byron

The spectrum of design to be found in Byron is expansive, colourful and ever-evolving. At one end you’ll see uber-luxury in the property market and the celebs and entrepenuers who own it. At the other end, this is a town that can be enjoyed almost for free, just add a surfboard and a picnic lunch your way to the Gold Coast. In the middle, let’s not forget the active-wear clad influencers, holidayers from capital cities, and fashion & music based businesses established here. Above all else, Byron is known for it’s natural New South Welsh beauty, historical landmarks and strong indigenous community. A paradox, this is the place where health and hedonism meet.
As a business based in between Sydney and the Gold Coast, Rather Design has attracted three design projects out of Byron Bay in recent years, outlined in this post.

  1. We were commissioned to create a branding suite for a private home on Marine Parade, Wategos beach. After purchasing the property for $18.85M, the owner commenced a full scale renovation to transform the property into a private, hotel-like oasis for their family and friends. For privacy reasons we are unable to showcase images of the work in-situ.

  2. Another private home in Byron Bay needed branding to make it’s debut in the area under the management of Bay Escapes as a holiday rental. This owner chose to apply the collateral we provide across a variety of surfaces on the property, again to create a hotel feeling on a small scale.

  3. Our third Byron Bay client is hair care company, OiTO Haircare, bringing already cherished formulations from organic farms in Brazil to like-minded Byron Bay. Rather Design was engage to produce a full suite of packaging and branding and a robust shopify e-commerce store which is enhanced by the email marketing ecosystem we built to support it.

All that said, every Byron project we have undertaken has required a very unique approach. We analyse the scale of production, the end-user and the history behind each place or business that is places in our care. On our part, listening is imperative, and on the client’s, so is trust.
